A bit about the artist
Michelle, also known as ‘May Cat’ is a tattoo artist living in Adelaide, Australia.
Although she started her career in tattooing in 2021, Michelle has long been involved in the local visual art scene, exhibiting her watercolour illustrations and paintings in numerous exhibitions along with taking part in the local zine making scene.
Art has always been a huge part of her life, being inspired by 80’s/90’s videogames and manga since young.
Her stylistic focus in tattooing is Neotraditional and fine line stipple designs.
Michelle enjoys exploring soft muted colours, textures, varying line weights, flow and form. If you ask her to tattoo anything involving animals, florals, magical cottagecore vibes, high fantasy or anime/manga, no doubt she’ll be super excited for your project!
When Michelle isn’t in the studio, you can find her cruising down the beach on her penny board, taking photos of flowers or sketching outdoors. She also loves to play videogames, hang out with her cat Leo and you might even catch her at conventions helping her partner with his TCG business ‘Fabled Games’.
