Can I get a tattoo from you?
If you meet the critera listed below, you’re ready for a tattoo!
*You must be 18 years or older to be tattooed (Parental consent is not valid and it is illegal to tattoo anyone underage), are not under the influence of drugs/alcohol or pregnant/breastfeeding.
*You’ll need to have a current and valid form of photo ID (drivers license, proof of age card or passport) to bring to your appointment, otherwise I will reschedule you with loss of deposit. Photo ID will be cited on the day along with your D.O.B.
*You cannot be taking any type blood thinner type medication before your tattoo. This includes, but not limited to: Ibuprofen (nurofen, advil etc), aspirin, warfarin, codeine etc. Please check with your doctor if you are unsure. These blood thinners cause excessive bleeding and can affect the healing process and outcome of your tattoo. Paracetamol (Panadol, Tylenol) are ok to take before your appointment.
I have sensitive skin / allergic to some lotions, is that an issue?
If you have sensitive skin or any allergies (not limited to:perfumes, fruit, nuts, adhesives ect) you are aware of, please let me know as there are alternative tattoo products (glides/aftercare ect) I can use through out your appointment.
Unfortunately with conditions like Eczema or Psoriasis, I won’t be able to tattoo over any skin flare ups which includes broken or scaly skin. If you have a flare up before your appointment in the area you’d like to be tattooed in, please contact me.
Is the studio quiet? I can get a little anxious sometimes…
I am more than happy to accomodate anyone with anxiety, sensory issues or clients who would prefer to tune out and pop their headphones on for the session. The studio I work in is a quiet, safe space that currently has two tattoo artists working from it.
We also have tea, fizzy drinks, lollies and sensory toys on hand if you need.
We’re more than happy to help you feel right at home!
What styles do you tattoo?
I specialise in colour Neotraditional, illustrative, fine line and black and grey stipple tattoos. You can find examples of these on my home page and under the ‘work’ heading.
Styles that are out of my skill set/won’t tattoo include: geometric, mandalas, freehand script, micro tattoos and hyper realism.
I have a tattoo idea, how can I arrange an appointment?
Awesome! Once you have your tattoo idea ready to go, please fill out the jotform under the ‘Bookings’ heading on my website.
You can also access this via instagram in my bio section. Make sure to be concise and tell me everything you’d like me to know about your idea, along with pictures for placement and references. Filling all the info in on the form allows less time back and forth emailing and I can potentially book you in quicker.
Please don’t DM me on social media, I get a high volume of emails and messages daily, so please use my jotform only.
After 1-7 days I’ll email you back to discuss your idea, an estimate of time, price, available dates and organising a booking deposit. Make sure to check your spam folder as emails sometimes end up there!
What days/ hours do you work?
I work Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am-5pm.
I have a set schedule with a mid week break to allow myself to catch up on admin, emails, social media and drawing up stencils.
Please also be respectful that my full days are 6.5 hrs, this is the max time I will sit to reduce the risk of injuring my back and neck over time. I take my health seriously and aim to continue tattooing for years to come!
how much do you charge for your work?
There’s a lot of factors that go into pricing a tattoo. When a concept is sent to me I have to consider the placement, size, techniques involved, overall composition ect.
I price tattoos per piece so you know exactly how much your tattoo will cost without stressing about time vs money.
For ongoing work I’ll quote you a session price with a rough estimate of sessions required.
Tattoos under an hour will be $160.
A booking deposit of $100 prepaid is required before the appointment is confirmed and is deducted from the total tattoo price. This is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Some larger projects (half sleeves/sleeves) will require a once off $200 deposit for the first booking, then $100 deposit for each booking after that
If you feel you’re financially unable to commit, just let me know and we can revist your idea again when you’re ready :)
How can I pay for my tattoo on the day?
Payment can be made via bank tranfer or cash.
Please bring the correct notes to your appointment if paying in cash.
i’ve just paid my deposit, what now?
Once I’ve seen the deposit paid I’ll book you in right away! You’re only booked in once you receive an email confirmation from me. If you didn’t recieve a confirmation message, please email me and I’ll get back to you shortly.
This is actually my first tattoo, what should I expect?
That’s really exciting! Congrats on booking in your first tattoo!
It's completely normal to feel nervous as well.
Here's a few tips to ensure you feel comfortable on the day:
*Get a good nights sleep the night before your appointment
*Eat breakfast (and lunch for afternoons), If you haven't eaten a good meal, I won’t tattoo you. Coffee isn’t breakfast! Food is important as our bodies burn through adreneline and it needs energy throughout the tattoo.
If you haven't eaten there's a high chance you could faint.
*Bring snacks like lollies or museli bars and plenty of water to your appopintment.
*You must be over 18. Please bring photo ID for the consent forms we provide you with.
*Avoid sunburn and keep your skin moisturised in the weeks leading up to your appointment.
*Feel free to bring a book, devices, headphones or anything you feel would help distract you. I'm a fairly quiet tattooer, I'm happy to have a chat but honestly dont mind if you listen to music or play a game while I tattoo you.
How painful will my tattoo be?
This is a difficult question to answer as everyone experiences pain differently. Some spots are to known to be a bit more painful than others but some people experience the opposite and are able to sit well for those placements. Common sensations you may feel include a scratching feeling, stinging, vibrations from the machine, tickling, tingling and feeling like you have sore sunburnt skin.
After the tattoo is finished, you may feel tired and a little sore which is completely normal. I’ll run through the aftercare steps with you and give you a pamphlet too.
Is Numbing cream ok to use?
I don’t mind numbing cream, but not every tattoo artist is ok with clients using it. If you’re thinking about using it, please contact me ahead of time and let me know.
The only brand I’ll accept is if it’s ‘Numit’ which contains 5% lidocaine. You can find this brand at most chemists.
Personally I haven’t had any issues with Numit but be sure to do a patch test well before the appointment and follow the directions accurately before you come into the studio.
Other brands of numbing cream may contain high amounts of Lidocaine which can cause the skin texture to turn rubbery, making it really difficult to tattoo and in turn the tattoo will heal patchy.
CAN I BRING FRIENDS/relatives WITH ME?
The studio I work in is a small, private, quiet space. We have limited room and try to accomodate clients who have sensory issues.
PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THIS
For this reason please do not bring people in with you unless previously discussed as they may be asked to come back once your appointment is finished.
Please ask ahead of time, there’s definately circumstances I’m happy for +1’s to accompany you.
